The purpose of this activity is to educate prescribers about the risks of opioids and better equip them to treat patients with pain and substance use disorder.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, attendees will be able to:

1. Provide information about the opioid overdose epidemic.
2. Identify opioid screening tools, guidelines, laws/regulations
3. Recognize substance use disorder and know how to treat it.
4. Describe how to safely council patients about safe use of opioid medications, including risks/benefits.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for clinicians who prescribe opioids.
