Description

Clinician burnout is not an individual problem but rather a system issue and if it affects half of clinicians, it is indirectly affecting half of the patients. Clinicians and leaders working together constructively to identify, develop, and implement solutions for problems in the practice environment can demonstrate to clinicians that improvement is possible, This approach can transform clinicians from victims in a broken system to partners working with leaders to create their own future.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

1. Outline deliberate, sustained organizational efforts to reduce burnout and promote engagement.
2. Describe effective interventions and their cost.
3. Discuss the role of leadership in organizational efforts.
